Nevada95 hosted a 100% youth led webinar highlighting youth from across the state as they shared their experiences during the 2021 legislative session. This webinar gave an opportunity to hear from youth who made direct impacts on the legislative session, they share their work, and the importance of youth civic engagement.

Churchill Community Coalition Youth Summit.

June 2021

Nevada95 Steering Committee members presented findings of its Youth Health Outcomes report to youth in Northern Nevada at the Churchill Community Coalition Youth Summit, discussing important health related issues impacting youth across Nevada. Nevada95 presented these findings and facilitated an open discussion on important issue areas for youth and their thoughts on potential solutions.

Nevada95 Art Contest: Youth Service and Engagement in 2020: A Year in Review.

March 2021

Youth from across the state submitted artwork falling into three categories, Visual Art, Prose, and Video. Youth gave incredible insight into their worlds and how they were impacted by the unprecedented events of 2020. They gave a look into how they were feeling in those moments and their hopes for the future. The artwork was proudly displayed at Nevada Humanities in their gallery as well as a virtual gallery which can be viewed at Nevada Youth Make Their Mark: Sharing Experiences from the Pandemic Year and Looking Forward. Several youth were featured on a podcast discussing the exhibit, their experiences with the project, and their messaging behind their artwork, the podcast can be heard at Art Exhibit-Youth Discussion. In addition, one artist was the gallery’s featured blog for the exhibit, you can read his blog Bursting Bubbles.
