Nevada Stakeholder Perceptions of Youth Educational and Mental Health During the Pandemic

On behalf of Dr. Ivory Lyles, UNR Extension Director; Dr. Easton Brooks, Dean UNR College of Education & Human Resources and our multi-disciplinary research team, we would like to share a recent statewide assessment conducted to learn about Nevada’s youth, what is going well, what is not going well, as well as lessons learned in terms of Pre-K – 12 education in Nevada during the COVID-19 pandemic. The team received over 1,300 responses and 2,000 comments.

The responses and lessons learned have been analyzed into a report, Nevada Stakeholders Perceptions of Youth Educational and Mental Health Needs During the Pandemic. Attached is a letter from Dr. Lyles and Dr. Easton-Brooks explaining this work, as well as an Executive Summary, and a four-page high-level overview of the main findings.

The research team will continue to collaborate with strategic partners across the state to collectively address the current and post-pandemic educational and mental health needs of Nevada’s young people.
