Youth Service and Engagement in 2020: A Year in Review.

2020 was an unprecedented, tumultuous year. Nevada is embroiled with the COVID-19 pandemic that has left us in an economic and public health crisis, and Nevada sat center stage as a deciding factor in a contentious Presidential election.
Youth faced high unemployment rates, dealt with uncertainty and instability as schools closed, and faced the quiet, daily struggles so many of our citizens have faced as our nation reckons with the effects of pandemic. Despite all of the hardship, youth activism and community engagement have not faltered. Youth voter turnout for the 2020 presidential election more than doubled that of the 2016 election, protests were held across the state in solidarity with Black Lives Matter, and activists worked within their communities to try and support their neighbors in a time of great need.

We want to hear directly from you. Send us your art that depicts what this past year was like for you. We want to know your struggles and your achievements. What are you glad to leave behind in 2020 and what work will you carry with you into 2021?
